The Lion & The Old King’s Arms
These are former coaching inns dating back to the late 18th Century, with the Lion being the starting point for the Royal Mail Coach.
Both buildings originally had coaching archways to give access to the rear of the property for coaches and horses, but these have been bricked up.
The Lion was built by the Owen family of Orielton and its golden lion statue represents the family crest. It was once a grand hotel stretching as far as the Long Entry but sadly was split up into three separate buildings.
The Old Kings Arms has some interesting features, including a Chinese Chippendale staircase.
The Town Hall (Point 1) is next to the Old Kings Arms. You have now completed the Pembroke Town Trail!
